I’ve learned it the hard way! 🙂 What’s your view on this?

My later discovery about people is that receivers are much higher in percentage than givers.

Ironically, it’s again the 80/20 rule (80% receivers and 20% givers) and this comes from their beings/education and so forth. The issue is with the receivers that they always wait and push the others to get more and the givers who all their lives do not know something else than to offer their services and supportive love to a “rotten hole” which is a receiver.

Of course it’s hard to change the rule and become a receiver yourself when all your life is just giving. It’s a kind of self-detachment from your own core and start becoming selfish(?!!!) like the receiver.

I think you have got my point, Gabriela.

    Best regards,
    Flavia.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts, Flavia!
Our own core is both giving and receiving at birth, but people around us and our perspective of what we experience reinforces one side usually. It might be hard to change, but not impossible. And the beauty is, when one part decides to change, the other part will change too: when the giver stops giving all the time, the receiver is faced to either change or move on.
I don’t see the receiver as selfish, it’s more that he understood the benefits of asking and receiving … more than those of giving. When s/he’ll understand both sides, s/he’ll be free to choose which side is more apropriate in the any given situation (instead of going by default in her/ his predominant behavior).
And as I said on my facebook page, it goes the other way too: RECEIVE and GIVE (not just receive). Having the habit of only one of them stops the energy flowing through you, and you won’t achieve all the results you want.
